Your Experience Level (IMPORTANT)
Basic Setup: No programming experience needed to configure the environment, use only included commands, drag/drop teammates into slot, set up audio, keys, etc... Can be used to publish simpler shooter game. This is mostly because the Silver AI Engine itself does not require coding skills. You'll need to be lightly familiar with how Silver AI works.
Advanced Setup: WARNING: Intermediate C# skills are needed to create a complete game. Full customization (e.g. custom squad commands), requires a solid understanding of Unity, Unity API, Unity component methods, and C#. Please keep this in mind BEFORE you purchase. Our tech support would love to help you, but we will not teach you programming!
LIMITATIONS:
Advanced Formations: Please know that this is a starter kit, and advanced squad formations are not included. All features are represented in the webplayer demos and most features are seen in the promo video.
Squad Delay: There will be a slight delay, from 1-5 seconds after you issue a command before your squad acts on it. This is due to the decision-making process to imitate real-world players. Squads might also wait at a breached door for several seconds before entering. This delay cannot be fully removed.
Workflow Speed This asset might require a good amount of time to fully understand and create a complete game from. This is not something you can whip up and publish in an hour. Be prepared to take the time to carefully examine the system. Please know this before you buy!
Compatibility
The system uses Tags and Prefabs to recognize allies & enemies. This gives it simple integration with other assets. It is UFPS compatible, and the base Silver AI asset includes a UFPS demo scene. This is not compatible with PlayMaker. For PlayMaker AI, check out our Advanced Battle AI, specifically made for PlayMaker, and includes real time command demos.
Requirements
- Unity 5.2+ (no Unity 4)
- Silver AI Engine v1.1+ (included bonus)
- Silver AI advanced add-ons are not needed
- Unity 5.3 Users: We have a single report of failure on import. We're not sure if this is happening to all Unity 5.3 users and are looking into it.
Installation
1) Create a blank new project to avoid overwrites
2) Import third party plugins if needed (e.g. UFPS)
3) Import this asset
