📖 FAQ 💬

1- What will happen with Colorize support now that we have released Colorize Pro?

We fully intend to support both Colorize and Colorize-Pro, as they are aimed at different audiences. Colorize (Original) will continue to receive updates, and we're currently working on an update that will be released soon. Designed as an entry-level product, Colorize maintains simplicity and has a broad appeal for beginner users.

Colorize-Pro, on the other hand, targets a more professional audience seeking additional functionality and features. Despite the release of Colorize-Pro, we have already pushed updates to Colorize Original that included processing optimizations and additional features. We will continue to update and support Colorize alongside Colorize Pro to ensure both assets meet the needs of their respective audiences.

2- What's the difference between Colorize and Colorize-Pro?

Colorize offers an intuitive, palette-based approach to color management for solid and patterned textures, featuring straightforward controls to help you get started quickly. It's ideal for most 3D projects using low-poly models.

Colorize-Pro, on the other hand, is designed for professionals who require extensive, unrestricted control over texture workflows. It includes advanced features such as gradient palette editing, texture injection, multi-material editing, and segmentation. With Colorize-Pro, you can achieve complex texture manipulations, making it closer to fully-fledged texture editing software than a simple asset. To fully leverage these capabilities, you may need to refer to the documentation, video guides, and Discord support channels.

3- Which asset should I start with?

We generally recommend starting with Colorize. Its robust palette-based editing features and minimal complexity make it well-suited for most 3D projects utilizing low-poly models. Colorize-Pro is intended for users who need advanced features like gradient palette editing, enhanced patterned palette editing, and multi-material support. Additionally, Colorize-Pro is a required dependency for Colorize-HD (for HD non-palette textures) and Colorize-2D (for sprite texture editing).

By starting with Colorize, which shares the same interface as Colorize-Pro, you'll be well-prepared to transition smoothly to Pro if your project demands these expanded capabilities.

4- Will I get a discount if I upgrade from Colorize to Colorize-Pro?

Yes! We offer a discounted upgrade path from Colorize to Colorize-Pro. You can start with Colorize to see if it fits your project's needs. If you later decide you need the advanced features of Colorize-Pro, you can upgrade at a reduced cost.
